We were delighted to see some of the people we know and respect win awards this year at the UCD Smurfit Business Journalist Awards, in particular Charlie Weston and Joe Brennan with whom we have had dealings with in the past on the various topics of finance that they cover.

Journalism is about getting facts, being objective and delivering the scoop in a professional manner, we think that the folks over in the Indo do a great job of this, well done to one and all.

The competition this year was fierce, 2008/2009 has been a HUGE year in business reportage, if there was ever a year to win 2009 was amongst the best to do it in. We admire so many of the other entrants, but that’s competition for ya, there can only be one winner.

And to Charlie in particular: the second picture is proof! 🙂
